History of College: came into existence in the year 1982

Shanti Vardhak Education Society was founded in 1959 by the saintly personality of Parama Poojya Shri. Ma. Gha. Cha. Dr. Channabasava Pattadevaru of Hiremath Samasthan, Bhalki. the mantle of development of the society fell on the strong shoulders of shri. Bheemana Khandre, former Transport Minister Govt. of Karnataka, and with his untiring efforts and farsightedness, he brought the society to the present enviable position in whole of Karnataka through his selfless and incessant sfforts as its founder president.

At present Mr. Ishwar Khandre, a Mechanical, has stepped in as the president of the Society. Under his dynamic and able leadership the society is progressing by leaps and bounds.

About the Institute

The R.E.C Bhalki which is affiliated to Gulbarga university, Gulbarga and is approved by All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi, came into existence in the year 1982.

Bidar is the crown city of Karnataka State. It is a well known historical place ruled by Bahamani Kings. Bhalki town is situated 40 Km away from Bidar and is well connected by Train as well as Bus with Gulbarga, Hyderabad, Latur and Nanded. It has got a mixed culture of Maharastra, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka and gives a combined taste of rural and city life.The College is located in this beautiful city.The college Building has got a plinth area of 32,784 Sq. meters and has got the provision of well equipped Labs, Library, Computer centre, Work shops, Drawing halls and Seminar halls.

 

Seletion and Admission procedure

The total intake of the college is divided into five categories free seats, payment Karnataka seats, Payment non-Karnataka seats, NRI / Management seats and Diploma seats. Candidates desirous of taking seats in NRI quota / Management quota have to apply to the college. They have to send the application from alongwith copies of the marks card and other certificates to the Principal, Rural Engineeering College and approach the Chairman / Pricipal. Seats for the other categories except NRI / Management will be filled by the Govt. through Karnataka CET Cell, Bangalore.

Candidates interested to take admission in the above categories have to apply for admission to CET cell, Bangalore and write the examinations. Candidates with Diploma qualifications have to apply to the Director of Technical Education, Bangalore. the dates for calling for the aplication will be published in leading news papers by CET cell and DTE separately. The mangement can fill the unfilled/unallotted seats after cut off date fixed by the Government. The candidates may reserve the seats under this category.

COMPUTER CENTRE
The computer centre is located in the administrative building with 600 sq. mts area with 100 systems with LAN facility and it also has future provisions to expand upto 200 systems.

ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION and ELECTRONICS & INSTRUMENTATION DEPARTMENT
Other than the basic labs, the department has one of the best PCB labs in the University. The dept. has other labs such as Advanced Microprocessors lab, Fibre Optics Lab, DSP Lab, and Microwave and Radar Engg. Lab. The department also has PC based process control lab.

MECHANICAL AND INDUSTRIAL AND PRODUCTION ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
All Laboratories, workshops and machine shops are well-equipped and every year the latest equipment and machinery are added to keep them up-to-date and on par with the best Engineering Institutions.

LIBRARY
The campus has an extensive library on the third floor of the main building, with over 17,000 volumes, covering all the subjects taught here and nearly 100 seating capacity in the reading room at a time . The dewy decimal system of classification is adopted. Apart from issue books, the students have open access to the reference section which contains over 4,000 books, over 110 Engineering Journal and scientific magazines over 200 dissertations / project reports of different branches. A photocopying unit also is attached to it. Apart from the central library, every department maintains its specialised library.
Book Bank:Text books and reference books in various desciplines are issued to poor and deserving students.

HOSTEL

• Well furnished accomdation is provided to almost all the 600 students of the college.
• Two hostel blocks.
• Seperate hostel block for ladies to accomdate 125 students.
• Seperate hostel block for First year students.
• Mess buildings to accomdate 300 students at a time with North Indian and South Indian style food.

TRAINING AND PLACEMENT CELL

The Training and Placement Cell has been established in the year 1994. It has been providing assistance to all B.E and M.E. students in getting vocational / Inplant training during vacations as well as getting suitanle placements in various companies such as Indian Air Force, Indian Army, DRDO, JCT Electronics Limited, NFL, Maruti Udyog Limited, Diesl Components Work-Ministry of Railways, BHEL, NPC, HMT, Bearings Limited, Mukerian Papers Limited, Kabeer Steels, Indian Airlines, Goetze (India) Limited, irrigation Department Government of Karnataka, FCI Limited, HMT, Centre for Water Resource Development and Management Kerala, NMDC, Punjab Wireless Systems, Hindustan Coppers Ltd., Ballapur Industries Ltd., VXL Engineers limited, Escorts Ltd., Thapur Group of Industries etc.

The training and placement cell has been maintaining a close liaison with a large number of private and public sector organisations with a view to providing Inplant training and placement services to the students. The cell also helps the students through guidance and counselling for higher education, career planning, training and placements etc. Many of our students are well-placed with various reputed organizations in India and abroad.
